Logo Design

Brand Identity

I created this project to practice how I would help a client with their brand identity.

I got the idea from a graphic design brief generator and decided to run with it. I wanted to go through the whole process, from research and development, to design and final outcome. Starting from the logo, and ending with brand-wide styles.

I started with arguably the most important part of a brand’s visual identity, the logo.

Whenever I start designing a logo, I don’t worry too much about detail. My main focus is to get out as many designs as I can, that way I can start making iterations of what I think works best.

I then chose the colors and typefaces that best suited the company’s aesthetic.

This part can be tricky. This is basically the visual life’s-blood of your brand, so you want to make sure that it’s original, recognizable, and timeless. I went with a bit of a bolder color scheme, and a chunkier font that would hold up well across all uses, be that digital or print.

I then mocked up how the company’s colors should be used in unison.

I do this so that the client can see what colors work together, in terms of visibly and readability, and design wise.

Finally, I designed a logo variant, and used that to design two repeating patterns.

This logo lends itself more to the digital space, such as a social media profile icon, however it still has its physical applications, such as labels and sticker. The repeating patterns could be used on packaging materials, as well as a watermark, or background.
